Teachers should practice greeting their students. Greeting students at the door is not a novel idea; indeed, it is practical work that teachers should do in each day. The teacher should convey kind word to their students in order to encourage them. An authentic and consistent welcome sends a silent message to the students that they are precious and valuable for their teachers.

Classroom Management

According to scientific research, investing a few moments to welcome the students is very beneficial for the students, because, it gives them realization that they are most valuable for their teacher. R. Allan, who is famous behavior analyst, has proved that making simple action in greet gives the sense to responsibility to the students. It engages the attention of the student to manage their classroom. If we see these researches then we will realize that student involve in education with warm welcome. Therefore, teachers should greet their students in different ways. Let’s discuss 5 ways by which teachers can greet their students in class.

Use The Name Of Students

As we know that the name of any person is the most important possessions. Most teachers give nickname to their students. So, the best way to greet your students is the usage of the name. If we call someone by his or her name then it shows a deep relation. Therefore, teachers should call students with their name and should suggest nickname for them in order to show their deep relation with them.

Give Handshake

Giving handshake is also another best way to greet students in the class. You should do handshake with your students and ask about their activities. If you will know all activities of your student then you will be shocked how many students are hard working.

Ask A Question

Asking question to the students is a very good habit that every teacher should adopt. The teachers should ask interesting question. Don’t ask too much difficult question, because, difficult question will create complex situation for the student and if student will not be able to give correct answer then he will face shame in the class. So, you should ask easy and interesting question to the students in the start of the class. For example, you can ask “how are you?”.Instead of that, you should ask what the hobbies of the students are. You can ask for their favourite songs as well as movies. I am hopeful that students will feel interest in telling their favorite hobbies as well as interest.

Make A Request

Another most useful way of greeting to the students is making a request. For example, you should give them little tasks. Preparing the desk is very interesting and full of fun; you should make a request to the students to prepare their books as well as desk. These works will engage the attention of the students to art and it also gives the opportunity to the student to make progress in the class. By making request you can increase the students' skills and students will feel the sense of responsibility and they will know how to manage their classroom properly.

Use Nonverbal Cues And Thumbs Up

The attention of the student is most important. Giving simple gesture and making eye contact with the students will encourage the student to concentrate on the study. You should make eye contact with students. For example, if a student is not focusing on the study then you should ask him by eye contact. In this way student will not feel shame in front of classroom. If a student is working well then you should give hi smile. If you will make eye contact and thumb up connection with the student then student will share all his or her problem with you and without any special effort. The student will be able to discuss lesson without any reluctant. This is another best way to greet your student and realize them that they are most valuable for you.To Conclude, I would like to suggest all the teachers that they should make a deep relationship with their student. A teacher should adopt many methods to greet your student.
